For security companies
Guard vetting software
Vet your whole security workforce properly — and prove it. The Tech Guarding Hub runs the background checks, records the evidence your clients, insurers and ACS assessors ask for, and keeps every officer's screening current with automatic annual re-screening. Published pricing, a seven-day free trial, no quote to chase.
Why it matters
Vetting isn't a formality — it's what your contracts depend on
Client contracts, insurers and the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) assessment all ask the same question: how are your people vetted? Get it wrong and you lose the contract, fail the audit, or carry the liability. Done on spreadsheets and email, vetting is slow, easy to get incomplete, and out of date the moment a licence expires or a new risk appears.
Guard vetting software turns that from a manual scramble into a repeatable, evidenced process: collect the candidate's information once, run the checks automatically, review against defined controls, and keep the record live so your workforce stays compliant year after year.
What the Hub does
One platform for the whole vetting lifecycle
Vet the whole workforce
Invite every officer into one organisation workspace and track each screening record and control status side by side. Unlimited Hub users are included.
Automated checks
Identity, SIA licence, sanctions and PEP, Companies House, insolvency, CCJ and DBS checks run automatically on submission — results in days, not weeks.
Your review or ours
Make the human evidence decision with your own reviewer, or have Tech Guarding do it for you. You choose per guard.
Audit-ready evidence
A live, timestamped audit trail of every check and decision — the proof your clients, insurer and ACS assessment want to see.
Stays current automatically
Records don't go stale. The Hub re-checks SIA licences and risk indicators on a rolling annual cycle, so screened staff stay screened.
Into the field
The optional TechGuard app carries vetted officers into GPS-verified shifts, patrols, welfare checks and incident evidence.
The standard
Built on BS 7858:2019
In the UK, the recognised standard for vetting people who work in secure environments is BS 7858:2019. It sets out the identity, right-to-work, five-year history, criminal-record and financial checks an employer must complete and evidence. The Hub implements that standard end to end — so “vetted on the Hub” means vetted to BS 7858:2019.
Pricing
Published up front, from £27.50 per guard
No quote to chase and no sales call. Guard verification starts at £27.50 per guard (VAT included), the organisation platform is £9.99/month with a seven-day free trial, and you only pay for TechGuard app seats you actually assign. Typical outsourced vetting is quoted at £49–£160 per person — see the full breakdown and comparison on our pricing and screening pages.
Who it's for
For UK security companies that vet their own staff
SIA-licensed guarding firms, door-supervision and CCTV providers, keyholding and alarm-response companies, and any business whose people hold unsupervised access to client premises, assets or data. If a contract, insurer or ACS assessment asks how your staff are vetted, this is how you answer — and prove it.
Guard vetting software FAQs
What is guard vetting software?
Guard vetting software runs and records the background checks a security company must complete before deploying an officer — identity, right to work, SIA licence, five-year employment and address history, criminal-record (DBS), sanctions and financial checks — and keeps that evidence auditable. In the UK the recognised standard is BS 7858:2019. The Hub runs these checks automatically on submission and keeps each record live for annual re-screening.
Do I legally have to vet security guards?
Guards must hold a valid SIA licence, and vetting to BS 7858:2019 is not a statutory requirement in itself — but it is routinely demanded by client contracts, insurers and the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) assessment, and is the industry standard for anyone with unsupervised access to client premises, assets or data. Software makes it practical to meet and evidence that standard at scale.
Can it manage vetting for my whole workforce, not just one guard?
Yes. You create one organisation workspace, invite as many officers as you need, and track every screening record and control status in one place. Unlimited Hub users are included in the platform fee; you only pay per guard verification and for TechGuard app seats you actually assign.
How is this different from a DBS check?
A DBS check is one component — a criminal-record check. BS 7858:2019 vetting is the full picture: identity, right to work, SIA licence, a continuous five-year employment and address history with gap analysis, references, financial probity and the DBS check, all evidenced in one screening file. The Hub coordinates the DBS as part of that wider process.
How much does guard vetting software cost?
Guard verification on the Hub starts at £27.50 per guard including VAT, with an organisation platform from £9.99/month and a seven-day free trial. Pricing is published up front — no quote required. Typical outsourced vetting is quoted at £49–£160 per person. See hub.techguarding.com/pricing.
