Tech Guarding key holding and alarm response officer

24/7 keyholding service

Key holding & alarm response

We hold your keys securely off-site and send SIA-licensed officers to every alarm activation, lock-up and open-up — across Sheffield and UK-wide. When an alarm sounds at 3am, a trained officer attends, not a member of your own team.

What we provide

A complete keyholding service

Our key holding and alarm response service takes responsibility for your premises out of hours. We store your keys securely off-site, and when an alarm is triggered our 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre dispatches an SIA-licensed mobile officer to attend, assess and make the site safe.

The same officers handle your scheduled lock-up and open-up — securing the building at the end of the day and unlocking it in the morning, checking the premises and setting or unsetting the alarm. It means no employee is ever first in, last out, or called back to a site alone at night.

  • Secure, coded off-site storage of your keys, logged and tracked
  • Rapid mobile alarm response to every activation, 24/7
  • Scheduled lock/unlock and open/close visits
  • Site checks, fault reporting and securing on attendance
  • Single premises or UK-wide multi-site contracts

Tech-enabled

Every response on the record

Key holding only protects you if it is accountable. Our officers evidence every attendance, so you can prove the response actually happened — to your insurer, your stakeholders and yourself.

24/7 ARC handling

Activations are taken by our 24-hour Alarm Receiving Centre console and dispatched to the nearest available officer without delay.

📍

GPS-logged attendance

Officer arrival and on-site time are confirmed by GPS, so attendance at each activation is time-stamped and verifiable.

📄

Incident evidence

What the officer finds is recorded with notes, photos and time-stamps, giving you an audit-ready record of every response.

🔔

Clear escalation

If a genuine incident is found, the officer follows your agreed escalation plan — securing the site and contacting your key contacts or the emergency services.

Why it protects your team

Keep your staff out of harm's way

Asking an employee to drive to a dark, isolated site after an alarm — not knowing whether an intruder is still there — is a serious lone-worker risk and a liability you don't need to carry. With key holding, a trained SIA-licensed officer attends instead. Your people stay safe at home, and the response is handled by professionals equipped and insured to deal with whatever they find.

Key holding & alarm response FAQs

Your keys are held securely off-site in tamper-evident, individually coded storage — never labelled with your address. Every issue and return is logged and tracked, so there is a full audit trail of who held a key and when.

An SIA-licensed mobile officer is dispatched as soon as our 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre receives the activation. Response times depend on your site location and the patrol coverage agreed, and target attendance times are set out in your contract.

Yes. Our officers carry out scheduled open-up and lock-up visits — unlocking and securing your premises at the start and end of the day, checking the site is safe and setting or unsetting the alarm — so no member of your team has to be first in or last out.

Sending employees to attend an out-of-hours alarm puts untrained staff at risk and can affect your insurance and lone-worker obligations. Our trained, SIA-licensed officers attend instead, removing the personal-safety risk and providing a documented response your insurer can rely on.
